CranioSacral Therapy (CST)

Susan's focus is on restoring normal function, position and movement to the articulations of the cranium and sacrum so as to restore normal nerve flow and cerebrospinal fluid flow to the brain and spinal cord.
CranioSacral Therapy (CST) was pioneered and developed by osteopathic physician John E. Upledger following extensive scientific studies from 1975 to 1983 at Michigan State University, where he served as a clinical researcher and Professor of Biomechanics.

About CranioSacral Therapy

CST is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the functioning of a physiological body system called the craniosacral system - comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord.

Using a soft touch generally no greater than 5 grams, or about the weight of a nickel, practitioners release restrictions in the cranial sutures, pelvic articulations and other areas of the body to improve the functioning of the central nervous system.

About SomatoEmotional Release

SomatoEmotional Release (SER) is a therapeutic process that uses and expands on the principles of CranioSacral Therapy to help rid the mind and body of the residual effects of trauma.  It allows the body to speak in the quiet of the session, and opens channels within the mind and body for resolution of emotional issues.

About CST

Personal Statement:  My greatest joy in my work with my clients is seeing the unexpected show up as easily as a bubble rising to the surface: a baby with colic settling down and no longer suffering; a boy with learning disabilities saying, “I can see things on the page I couldn’t see before”, a child with mobility issues exclaiming, “I am running!”, an adult finding a link between a chronic pain in the neck and an incident that happened long in the past, to find that the pain resolves when they revisit their old trauma in the safety of the session.  I invite you to come explore what Upledger craniosacral therapy can offer you.
